Ilocos Sur Festival

Every year on February 2nd, the Philippines' Ilocos Sur province celebrates its founding anniversary with the Kannawidan Ylocos festival. Activities take place from the final days of January to the first week of February, and the celebration lasts for a week. The province's capital, Vigan, is the site of major activities.

The word tawid is the root of Kannawidan Ylocos. Tradition, legacy, and/or heritage is how it is translated into English. It commemorates the province's historic founding during the Spanish era.

Kannawidan Ylocos was first launched within the term of Deogracias Victor Savellano in 2008. It was founded with the goal of raising awareness of and preserving the regional customs, legacy, traditions, and culture. Additionally, it provided a chance to highlight regional goods, craftsmanship, and artistic expression. Additionally, it was developed to support the regional travel and tourism sector.

Traditional games, cultural performances, drone light and dancing fountain shows, fireworks displays, comedy evenings, entertainment, cuisine festivals, pet shows, and competitions are among the events that the Kannawidan Ylocos can enjoy. Traditional games, talent competitions, displays, athletic events, training, street dancing, festival dance competitions, and other entertaining activities are also available.

That's all I can find for the information I have researched. Very unfortunate I didn't participate in any activities while it was going on. Oh well, there's always next time. Thanks for reading!
