Weaving Our Wonders

 I have heard about this celebration before, about supporting and raising the indigenous cultures around the Philippines so people could appreciate the hard work that they do for their communities.

As I have heard from my Father's personal experience as an Igorot(Mountain People) it is not a very easy life to get used to as even if you are young you are still obliged to do hard work around the village which would leave you tired almost every day but you get to grow up with nice people around the your hometown and celebrate unique occasions that they have.

And now some indigenous folks are also at hard work of weaving several fabrics and clothes for people to wear which come in very unique patterns and clothing. With that being said we should always be aware of the hard work these people do in their respective places and support them however we can ensure their hard work isn't being forgotten.

My Christmas Celebration Of December

This year's Christmas was cool; I managed to take a two-week break from school and enjoyed all the activities we embarked on. I don't know if the topic is specifically about Christmas day or the two-week break, so I am just going to do both.

Christmas is all about giving and being nice to the people around you, which for the two-week break, the first few days were just resting after the Christmas program and hanging out with my family by walking by the shoreline of a beach.

Then my family took me to some places in order to prepare for Christmas Eve and on Christmas Day, so we gathered the necessary food and materials for the celebration, plus took some sweet photos to some places we've visited.

On Christmas Eve we went to a mass to celebrate the evening, then on Christmas Day we got up early to go to SM Norte to go shopping, which is also how we've celebrated Christmas, though I did have minor headache and also a hurting throat when I swallow. But that did not deter me from having fun on the trip.

We got back home to rest for a few days, then on December 31st we stayed up late in order to wait for the countdown on New Year's and celebrated it with a feast. It was a great Christmas season, and I am looking forward to what 2026 entails.

Journey of Elpidio Quirino

Elpidio Quirino, I've heard some stories about him before. Though I don't think I can give the best insight about him, I'll try to write what I know about what he did. May not be my best post but I'll try my best.

He was a political leader and the second president of the independent Republic of the Philippines. He obtained a law degree from the University of the Philippines, near Manila and has since been practicing the law and was elected as member of the Philippine House of Representatives. He was a member of the Philippine independence mission to Washington, DC, which was led by Manuel Quezon, which secured the passage in Congress of the Tydings McDuffie Act.

Served as secretary after World War II and vice president under the first president of the Philippines. President Quirino's government was confronted with a significant challenge: the Hukbalahap, a communist-led insurgency. The Communists gradually seized control of the group's leadership. When Quirino's talks with Huk commander Luis Taruc collapsed in 1948, Taruc publicly proclaimed his allegiance to communism and demanded the government's overthrow.

Quirino's presidency, spanning six years, was defined by significant postwar rebuilding efforts, overall economic progress, and a surge in economic assistance from the United States.  Fundamental social issues persisted, especially in the countryside, and Quirino's government was marred by pervasive bribery and corruption.

 Magsaysay, having mostly quelled the Huk insurgency, found himself at odds with Quirino over corruption. He championed clean elections, and in the 1953 presidential race, he bested Quirino, representing the Nacionalista party. And after all that, Qurino retired to a private life.

National Children's Month

National Children's Month is a great way to celebrate the happiness and joy of children for their optimism and energy. Unfortunately, though, some adults may not treat the children right as there are some parents that neglect and abuse their children, some children also get exploited from disgusting predators for their own selfish pleasure. Thankfully, the government has implemented laws that could ensure the safety of the young.

There are laws OSAEC and CSAEM that strengthen other existing laws that make stricter measures to protect the children from online harm that create any depictions of abuse. This law works with the Anti-Child Pornography Act of 2009 (R.A. No. 9775) and the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act (R.A. No. 7610) to make sure that international treaties like the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and other child protection protocols are followed. Even other organizations like Save the Children also exist in order to help children have a healthy life to experience.

With all these things here, I think the laws have helped greatly in protecting the children. Even though there might still be more abuse, there are responders that could be called into helping the young and make them feel safe. I hope all the children in the world(Including me) have a great and hopeful life ahead of them and we can expect all of them to be all great adults in the future.

 About The City of Vigan:

The heritage of Vigan is the finest surviving example of a Spanish Colonial town in Asia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It's well that in the country that Vigan City has plenty of amazing attractions for both locals and tourists to enjoy.

Tourist Spots/Attractions:

Plaza Burgos

 Plaza Burgos is a popular park in Heritage City of Vigan, Ilocos Sur. To honor Vigan's prominent sons, Plaza Burgos was built to commemorate the martyrdom of Father Jose P. Burgos. The plaza is a great place for many locals to relax and unwind while people watching and just have a breather.

Calle Crisologo

If you ask me, you should most certainly not miss the opportunity to visit Calle Crisologo, whenever you go to Vigan! Not only the beauty of this place can be seen, as there are also vendors of local products in Vigan. You could also try a calesa to visit the famous tourist attractions of Vigan.

Vigan Empanada

Nothing is complete to visit Vigan without tasting its famous Vigan Empanada. You can choose to try this delicious delicacy at food stalls in the city or at empanada stands in markets and squares. It is relatively cheap to have enough children to starve after visiting the city.

Burnay Pottery Industry

The amazing jars made in Vigan are sought after by foreigners and local tourists. This famous pot is called Burnay made in the Burnay Pottery Industry. The industry sprang out of the making of burnay, which began in pre-colonial times when Chinese immigrants arrived in Vigan. They practice producing pottery is found in Vigan's western region. The "RG Jar Factory," to be precise.

Dancing Fountain

 Another of the highlights in Vigan is the very enjoyable Dancing Fountain. And if you enjoy colorful things, you should visit it every 7:00 or 7:30 at night. It is just in front of City Hall in Plaza Salcedo. The music accompanies the release of the water, so it feels like dancing. Different colors of light make it even more beautiful.

Reflection Quarter #2

 Welp looks like I'll have to reflections again, my answers may not be the best this time around so sorry. But for what I've learned this quarter, I only learned some lessons from my various subjects. They are not anything crazy just some lessons that I've managed to understand and reviewed.

I Don't have that many challenges that might've been a problem. Aside from of course learning Filipino and stuff. But there are no challenges that could've dragged me down, so yeah, this section is a bit short.

Of course, like I said there aren't any notable challenges that I could address. I just do the same stuff that I did from first quarter. Short section again, sorry there's nothing more than I can say right now.

Moving on I will, still do my best in excelling my efforts for school and make sure that I pass my exams. I just need to understand the lessons more and perform better in my class activities. I'll still have faith in my studies and have fun while learning new things. I'll be an excellent student for this school year and beyond

My Teachers are my Heroes

 I respect all the teachers at school for making our education possible. I simply can't thank them enough for all the studies that have helped me and my classmates in living, they truly have given all their time in teaching us new things that could help us progress in life.

I thank them respectfully and I have even given the Sir Pajarillo a letter, simply because he managed to help me understand a little bit of Filipino and is a kind man. This goes for all the other teachers who have helped me understand the lesson and clarified my questions about it so that I may understand more.

Teachers are one of the most important people in the world. As they are the ones who taught many people on how to do many things in order for them to get jobs, even the teachers themselves were students from their time and had mentors that taught them well. So, I am glad teachers and mentors exist to guide to a better world.
